Hi, could anyone tell me where the auto pilot compass is located on the 415. Currently the compass heading is going round in full circles whilst the boat is stationary and I would like to check it before getting B&G in
Many thanks
Paul

Hi Paul
On High Time it's under the (false) floor in the first (towards the bow) wardrobe cupboard in the port stern cabin.
Maybe you have something magnetic loose in that cupboard?
You could probably do a crude test with a small magnet above the unit with someone observing the heading reading.
I don't think there is much to go wrong in the unit, though, so most likely a mis-stowed bit of (magnetic) metal.

Hi Roger
Thanks for the speedy reply, it was where you suggested. We haven't got to the root of the problem yet, but there wasn't anything magnetic in the cupboard.
Many thanks stay safe

hi Paul,

Don’t quite understand your problem but if you are concerned with incorrect/unrealistically unusual compass readings PRIOR to departure from the dock a quick phone call to B tech should confirm that the system does this after start up until the boat is moved as it co ordinates itself with the various Sattelite.
