Hi All
I had something of an exciting weekend! I nearly had a major nonsense on my boat over the weekend. After lowering the swim platform, and everybody diving into the sea, the only person left on the boat reported smoke out of the rear cabin. We quickly got back on the boat and turned everything off. The smoke was coming from behind the rear port cabin. I have attached pics of the burned out power relay for the hydraulic motor. This could have been really serious. Have there been any other reports of this? ![]() Who would I talk to at Hanse in Germany. Does anybody know how to get hold of a wiring diagram or a schematic? Thanx Edited by avi8tor - 05 June 2017 at 09:13 |

Hi Avi8to
This is not a relay, it's a solenoid and a loose connection at the burnt terminal is the most likely cause. David |

Hi D
Connection was very much tight when I removed it. Looks like the insolation from the inside has come out. Anybody have any ideas on the maker/part number? Does anybody have a email for the factory? Thanx P |

Any solenoid of the same amp hour rating and voltage will do ,I suggest you go for a larger amp hour rating as clearly to much current has been drawn though this one.

Hi Aviator,
contacting the yard for technical matters is completely useless. They seem to never reply to customer needs. Imho they might only reply to requests from Hanse dealers. I would contact the Hanse spare parts shop at hanse@boatoon.com. There you at least get a response and a replacement solenoid. Maybe another owner can write the exact designation down. 12 Volt solenoids are not unscmmon in industrial applications. You might even find an elctrician in Dubai, any solenoid will do the job ( totally different to aircraft spares :) ) Good Luck |

Hi all
I am rapidly finding out that the yard seems totally unwilling to help. The dealer here in the UAE is a total joke in the sailing community. I will pop down to the local hydraulic shop and see if i can find the BEST quality replacement part. The later serial number boats seem to have a 160 amp breaker installed to protect from this happening, anybody have a wiring diagram? Thanx P |

I would push your dealer for the complete wiring diagrams of your boat. I got them all for my 345 as pdf's and keep them on a tablet, which serves as below deck backup for my Chart plotter ( via Simrad gofree ).
Having them on the ipad has the advantage that you can bow up individual sections of your wiring diagram. Hope that another forumite has them already

The dealer in the UK super helpful. It seems like as the production went along the wiring changed. I have a version and will check it out against what the boat actually looks like.
But great to hear if you push hard enough these things are out there. |

I have looked at a later model wiring diagram, it seems to have a 150amp breaker in the system now. I will do the same mod on mine with the haul out in Oct.
