How old is this prop?
I can not believe my eyes to see this size of pitting and corrosion after a few years.
The only reason this corrosion can happen  is if there’s no anode on the prop our there was one degraded in now time by a large problem of electrolysis in your Marina our whatever.
By such a big degradation of the blades the prop is not proper in balance and destroy the gear and hub in no time.

I agree with Wild. That prop is astonishing.  For sure the resulting vibration would have damaged the bearing. Try your best to solve this problem before your new prop sees the same.

Also, inspect your drive shaft for crevice corrosion which is not as obvious but likely considering the condition of the prop. I’ve know of several shaft failure as a result.  The rudder shaft is aluminum and should also be dropped and inspected. Aluminum is even more susceptible to electrolysis than bronze, so better safe than sorry. Good luck.

Hi Wild & Leon
The Prop will now be 8yrs old.It is obvious that the maintenance on GF has been badly neglected during the covid lockdown.Anyhow this has all come to light as I wanted to replace all the seacocks.I will definately be following the advice you have both given. It would seem I have found these issues just in time before serious damage has occurred

Many thanks to all who have commented.
