For our Atlantic crossing I bought a SSB radio. For the SSB I need to fit a earthing plate underneath the boat.

Has anyone else done this?
What is the best place to mount the plate so you don't have to go through the sandwich laminate?

Hi Samba,

I am busy installing SSB Radio on board Uhambo.
ICOM 710 ATU 140 and PACTOR III with PCT II Pro.
earthing plate and isolated backstay.
Earthplate should be fitted as far as possible from the saildrive and the rudder stock!!!! and as close as possible from the ATU!! Catch22 question.
