We are looking at taking our boat to France next year and leaving it in a child friendly marina for about six weeks. Possibly around La Trinity / South Brittany.
Has anyone any advice on a good Marina to go to or how I might research it? Peter |

We are also thinking about South Brittany for next year. I have bought what looks to be a very helpful Pilot - Atlantic France by Jeremy Parkinson. It only lists one marina at La Trinite so your choice here is limited.

Hi Peter,
Have a look at Foleux on the river Vilaine. We visited it in 2010. It is a cross between a good marina and a camping site. Bags of grass play areas and space for children. Its not expensive and it is easy to get back to the UK by train from nearby Redon.
The Vilaine is about 20nm west from the Morbihan and is a sweet water river above Arzal, where there is a lock, which should be avoided on a Sunday evening. Foleux lies above La Roche Bernard, which is an yachties colony. There is than enough to do in that area to occupy 6 weeks.
There are no significant access restrictions unless you have a mega yacht.

I cannot stress strongly enough the benefits of the membership of the CA if thinking of going cruising extensively. www.cruising.org.ukDave

Thank you for your comments. We'll be researching locations over the winter.
