Hello everyone,
she is now in the water!
Still far from her final shape, but safely in the north adriatic waters...

Congratulations! I'm very curious about your impressions/experience, both positive and negative. We are seriously considering the same boat but we will not be able to test sail until late April.

Hi Bigcat, as you can see the boat still needs to be put together and I am planning to test her only by mid April as I live in UK. I will let you know!

...and here she is in her final shape:

she is just great! wonderful manoeuvrability which let you almost turn on the spot and great sailing performance (5.5kn SOG with 8kn TW and 32° AWA; with B&G showing 1.1kn tide almost on the nose).
A couple of minor things still to fix but I am absolutely happy with her.

Bigcat, any news about your final choice? did you test the J349?

hi Rich,

she looks good, congratulations!
We still have not been able to test sail either the 345 nor the 349.
The 349 arrival was delayed from late April to June but at least there is one coming.
There is no 345 in the bay area. So we need to find time to fly down to LA to see one.
Since we're going to Scotland & the Netherlands in July we may just go see one there.

We may actually delay our purchase a bit. B is coming out with an all new Oceanis 35 per the same concept as the new Oceanis 38 and we kind of like that boat.
It seems that all builders are going through some changes in their 34-35' lines, going for twin wheels, harder chines, lighter colors inside.
One thing I'm concerned about is if I fit in any of the berths on these boats, being 6'5 tall (1.96m)...

Happy sailing to you!
