Hanse, in sharp contrast to its French competitors, does not think that the bathing ladder ( in my view a important safety item ) should not be permanently attached to the stern platform. So you keep this stored either in the huge port ( where it gets lost ) or in the smaller one on starboard. Normally you put other stuff in there, which prevents a quick access to the safety ladder:
![]() I have now reorganized this locker with a separation and two "hold stuff" cubes. Now you can grab the ladder easily if you need it quickly: ( Note that I still have a safety line attached to the ladder ) ![]() Edited by Fendant - 21 April 2015 at 16:09 |

starboard cockpit locker is supposed to be used to store the life raft. Have you a good/better alternative to suggest?
cheers

Yep, this solution is only for the non life raft owners.

Hi Richz,
What is the weight of the life raft ?, ... 40 or 45 kg. You think a storm would be easy to get her out?. I think it's best to look for another location for the life raft. Regards. |

It should be about 30 kilos (ocean safety for 6 people).
I agree that it is not an easy thing to handle under those circumstances but I couldn't come up with any better alternatives (and by the way I believe that the purpose of that locker is to host the life raft as it is shaped exactly to fit in a 6 person life raft valise). But as I said, I am interested in hearing of any other better solution cheers, |

Unfortunately, I don't know. In the balcony of stern it would be very exposed to wave (as in deck, behind the mast). But in the cockpit locker and in the case of a quick collapse would be difficult to open. When closed, neither it could shoot the automatic hydrostatic release mechanism. |

Nicely done, thanks for the pics Fendant! We actually use the starboard locker to store 2 of our 4 fenders. The other 2 fenders go in the anchor locker. This is our first season with the new boat so I think at some point we need to think about organizing things, especially when it comes to the large port locker.
We got a couple of clear plastic storage boxes and put things in them, organized by usage (maintenance, cleaning, etc). There is room for improvement here
