You should activate (12 V +) the "start assist" switch on the Cyrix.  This will link both battery bank for 30 sec.
But if your batteries are flat there's nearly no way to hand start the engine

I have the Sterling VSR on my 345. Does this have the same feature as the Cyrix ?

Bruno,

A Cyrix is new to me. Where could it be located. Photo of my back panel Hanse 400.

Just follow the cable from the batteries and you will either find a relais or maybe a kind of silver box (I had a mastervolt distributor).

Maybe I did not understand Roy's original question or some replies. Did Roy have an empty start battery but the service (house) battery is ok. Why not then just connect the service battery and start battery's + lines and start the engine?
