Dear all in winter, we bought an early 291. The refit is ongoing and the boat still presents itself in good shape, but there is one issue now that I am scratching my head about: The sealing of the seam where the chainplates go through the deck. The design allows for some relative movement between the plate and the deck here when the boat / the rigg is working. The former owner has tried all sorts of sealants here and did not succeed. Has anybody been successfull in permanently sealing this joint on an early 291 and if so, how? Alternatively - as far as I know, the design in this area has been changed some time during the production of the 291. Does anybody have information on how this area was redesigned (photos / sketches)? Help appreciated to make our 291 perfect again, kind regards, Hesti
