My Quick bowthruster flap closes automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity. This Time sometimes is too short to find an get a berth in a harbour. So I want to extent that time to about 4-5 minutes. My dealer says that there is no way to do it, but an other sailor reports a much longer time to closure.
Whats is your experience with that bowthruster?

thanks!

There is a way to increase this time. On my Btr185 this can be done by de-powering the thruster and holding its activation button while powering it up back again. What model do you have?

The operating manual for the controller shown states that disablement will occur after 6 minutes of inactivity. I have not measured the delay on mine but it must be around 6 minutes.

If you can't adjust your timeout you can keep the thruster 'alive' by just blipping the port or starboard buttons occasionally. I do this, even with a 6 minute timeout, to ensure it will remain 'alive' in case it is needed quickly. I guess it will be tedious to remember to do it every 2 minutes, but maybe better than it being disabled when suddenly needed.
