I would like to install a tv or computer screen in the recess above my chart table as it is ideally placed for use as a secondary screen when working on a laptop or for general entertainment use (see pic below). I have the twin seats / centre chart table option rather than the standard settee.
I thought that I could just unscrew the shelf that creates the upper bookshelf but on examination the horizontal piece of wood runs all the way across the three sections of cupboard so I would need to cut this out.
Has anyone done anything like this?  Or maybe recommend a good carpenter in the Gosport/Solent area?

I formed two inverted J brackets from stainless steel (c. 50mm wide) in which I cut keyholes to match the Vesa mount hole pattern.  When mounted, the brackets hang off the horizontal trim on my H345 so that my TV/Monitor fits in front of a little used cupboard and panel.  We obviously don't travel with this in place but it works well for on board computing with a netpc or to watch DVDs/TV.  Sorry no pictures.

Brilliant idea!  I think that will work and be a very elegant solution.  Thanks for the tip.

Here are my crude SS TV hanging brackets.  They work, but there is scope for refinement . . .

i did allmost the same. I created a wood backplate for the tv and in this construction inverted J’s for going both over the very top of the shelf and also over the edge of the bookshelf.
The inside i clad with foam tape and made it possible to clamping by tightening screws. Thus possible to sail with this mounting.

Stuart - have you thought about mounting it on a flexible mount on the fwd bulkhead just above the seat?

The layout there is nearly identical to my 400 and that's what I did, bolting a 27" screen through the bulkhead to to a ply backing plate t'other side.  The TV can be angled round so it can easily be viewed from all the seats round the main table yet it can also be extended and angled down to provide a large screen for the laptop on the small table when in 'plotting mode'.  It's secured with webbing flat against the bulkhead underway when it can display the chart and all nav info for the benefit of those down below.  Its survived 3 seasons in all conditions and still works very well.

Just a thought!
