Hi Everyone I am new to the forum and new to Hanse, but am just acquiring a Hanse 470. I have a starter query, and one that probably has an easy answer, but how do I get the swimming platform down? I have found the line to haul it back up in the aft locker - but the reverse? Should it just drop when the line is uncleated?

As iemand said, there's a black loop at the leading edge of the platform, I use a boat hook for both deployment and retrieval as you can imagine it has some weight to it. The line is to lock it in place so in choppy seas it doesn't flop down and risk tearing off.
Attached to that platform is then a retractable ladder. Welcome and enjoy your boat, good choice

Thanks both. We have managed to get the platform down now. I think it has not been used for a long time, and the hinges were a bit stiff, to say the least. All good.
