Hi All,
I am curious how everyone organizes storage in the galley area.  The cupboards are not deep enough to stow plates flat so I stow them in the aft cabin lockers.  There is not a lot of storage for cups, plates, and food staples. etc.  I would like to get feedback on what others are doing.
Thanks

I store the plates in upright position with anti-slip mats between.

I am not going to be able to see our yacht for a couple of months, at least, so this is the storage layout from memory and it covers our needs for 4-7 days.

Having measured up the yacht we bought our cutlery from a camping and caravanning shop.  Luckily, for the pans, we managed to find items with either folding handles, or removable handles.

Starboard Side

Behind the cooker
Lower shelf:                Teas, coffee, sauces etc.

Cupboard                    The shelf is lined with the non-slip matting.
8-10 plates stacked vertically at one end
A stack 6 small plates,2 medium sized bowls and 4 small bowl at other end
8 mugs.  The small stainless insulated mugs are stacked, lower one upside down.

Cupboard behind fridge

Lower shelf                 4 times 1 litre fruit juice containers, muesli, pasta, rice and biscuits.
Large insulated mugs

Top shelf                     Measuring scales, juice extractor and tea pot

Cupboard under sink

Lower shelf                 Pressure cooker (A must in our books) small pan

Upper shelf                 Medium pan, sieve and measuring jug

Through the hole under the fridge     Frying pan, Large Salad bowl and colander

In the Oven                 Frying pans and casserole dish

Cupboard behind oven           Cleaning materials
Using L brackets screwed/bolted to the panel between the cooker and the oven, I have put in an extra shelf, about 70mm from the top, for rolls of cling film and aluminium foil.

Rear saloon Cupboard            Bread, spare juices and milk, biscuits etc

Middle shelves            Wine and beer glasses

Front saloon cupboard            In the hole, by the shroud fixings, Gin and Whisky bottles

Port Side

Rear Saloon Cupboard            Food in tins, jars, extra packets and some vegetables.
We slide in stiff table place mats at the front of the shelves to hold everything in place when we are heeled on port tack.

Under the Floor

Front small hole          Some vegetables

Front hole by table     4 bottles of white wine, stored in old socks, stored top to bottom

Rear hole by table       4 bottles of red wine, stored in old socks, stored top to bottom

Hole by Heads             Small ice cream boxes with small tins of tonic and coke.

Hole by cooker            Around 20 cans of beer and a couple of bottles of sparkling water
