Has anyone added a second Volvo engine control on a cockpit pod?

Ours is on the starboard steering pod, so of course our dock tie-up is on the port side :-)  Its not a big deal,  but if it was easy enough, I would add it myself.

It is a great idea. Please keep us informed on case you go ahead. Being electronic controls, i don't think it's a difficult electrical exercise to have two connected , but I wonder how you synchronise the physical position of the levers .. One in reverse and the other one full forward?

Do you also want to transfer the on/off unit?

I have the dual throttle control on my 588.  You're probably a pro at your home dock.  But pulling into an unfamiliar dock with the huge freeboard and wide beam we have, it is very nice to have.  The ignition start/stop is still at the starboard side.  To switch control to the port side, put it in neutral.  There is a button at the base of the controller that says "Station".  You press it on the starboard side, it locks control.  Press it one more time to release control.  Then, go press the same button on the port side.  You've got control on port side.  The throttles are not mechanically interlinked/synchronized.

I didn't install it, but I'll be at the boat later this week and am happy to take any pictures you would like.

For what it’s worth, I have noticed that my port nav pod has the Hanse installed Volvo harness in it ready to go. I’m guessing it’s a mater of sourcing the control, mounting it and plugging it in.
