hello members
Due to my Hanse docks in a public harbour we decided to get some protection
I hope that this will help someone

I scouted the market and made a pro/con list.

My must have is……  no monthly fee,  picture from every event,
Easy on/off , possible to checkout what happens on board if a storm goes by,
2 way audio, battery powered at least a couple of months,
Alarm feature (siren) 4g cellular connectivity

So now to my final conclusion
The Eufy 4g starlight ticks most pro off all my requirements

So now to my test, I will continue this and return as time goes

I installed the camera on starboard side to let it have a good view (on the left over the clock is my temporary winter alarm)
That is now removed Approve

So I did some testing entering the cabin…

The alarm was sounding as I opened the hatch
And the camera started to film when entering into the cabin
The camera uses AI to look for best facial photos and send that to me regardless how long or fast I was waiting before, or entering directly.

I got the full control to stop the alarm or let it sound and film whole thing.
Camera can handle 8Gb internal recording before overwriting

That the camera sends a photo of the intruders face, prohibited loss of evidence if the thief broke the camera, that evidence is not lost as you already have it on your phone

That message took about 2-10 seconds before I got it to my phone from first trigger from the camera (cellular system handling time from provider making a delay as camera upload the picture at once)WinkWink

From that message, I got the opportunity to speak or save or see Live Photos as streaming
Se photo how messages looks on iPhones
You also see battery state

To see the video I get out until I did stop recording and stop the camera

If you’re got a need for cloud storage u can get it to at a small monthly fee
And up to 3 different phones can manage the alarm/camera system free off charge

So this is a great thing to have for peace and mind I recon

Charging is over USB and from 50% to full took about 2h
(I installed a usb charger in the lamp next to the camera)
So no connection is necessary for at least 3 months before you need to charge it again

Only hassle is if you have a pin code on the SIM card
That needs to be removed
Hope this helps to clarify the easy usage of this cam

JoJo - nice solution.  If I were back in Virginia I'd ask about connection to an automatic rifle....
