After having guests on board for some weekends we realized that the aft cabin hatch is a joke, on hot days the cabin is a torture chamber.
On the old models Hanse showed a hatch just by the cleats on the right side of the cockpit, which is not longer there.
Did anyone think on a solution to this?

I have in mind installing a lewmar window on the side below the sitting area on the cockpit.

Any ideas?

It's really sad for me to see Hanse downscaling with every new model...on my boat I have a Lewmar hatch installed by factory as standard. It's positioned exactly where you think of installing it...on the side below the starboard bunk...you will not need anything else - with the 2 hatches open you have the cross flow and you end up with good ventilation and fresh air most of the time...Don't hesitate to install it...

Windsurfer,
Thank you very much for confirming that.
I wil appreciate if you can send me a picture with the exact position of the hatch, I don't want to cut through any important structural frame.

Enjoy the rest of the season!

I do not know if the specification has been changed or not, but it is clear on the Hanse website that "Opening Portlight, aft cabin, stb" is an option that has to ordered separately. You find it under Deckequipment.

Fortunately for me, my dealer had a special version of Hanse 355 called "Scandinavian Edition" with a lot of extra equipment for a resonable price. So the Lewmar hatch in the aft cabin was "standard" on my boat too.

As far as I know hatch in aft cabin has always been on the option list (H 350 and H355) as well as portlight.

Retrofit a portlight is very easy. For the hatch it will be a bit more difficult as you have to avoid aluminium reinforcement plates and the gap between ceiling and deck is more important.

I spoke to the dealer and it doesn't show in the options, for whatever reason.
I will go ahead this weekend to buy and install a port-light, I will post pictures.

Goldenraf...I would love to help you out with pictures and dimensions, however as you might have noticed I got a 320 which is obviously a different boat...I'm sure the guys with the 350s will give you all necessary info...
