Hi does anyone know if its possible to install a passive hull extension to the rear of a 630 similar to what the 78 has planned? I have seen this done on smaller boats before but have never seen it on anything over 40 foot or so.

The idea being to have a fixed swim platform and somewhere for a larger jet tender to sit on.

Many thanks,

You can do anything, and from a constructional point of view most shipyards would be able to do it.
But I would think twice before i changed the elegant lines of a Hanse 630.

Not many extended hulls look good. In fact I havent seen one. But your's could be the first :-)

Hi,

It is not such an easy operation as in other hulls since the garage door extends over the lower part of the hull.
The extension will make the door useless and an other system must be invented, unless of course one replaces the door with a fixed transom.
Also in some countries as mine the new hull has to certified by a ship serveyor such as Lloyd's. The cost would be greater than the potential benefit and probably the total cost of the new boat higher than a new bigger boat.
Usually these kind of operations are performed on very old hulls to extend their service life and part of a major refit.
So I wouldn't even think of this conversion.
Sorry for the disappointment!

This is the best option you have I think.
