   Morning All
I hope all is good, just a quick one, slowly going to replace the running rigging over the next few months.  I'm going to use braid on braid rope, having a mind blank - 10mm for the thickness for the main, jib and spinnaker halyards with 2.5 times the mast height + a bit for the length.  I think the spinlock clutches can go up to 12/14mm but have struggled with 11/12mm old climbing rope (as a trail) to get through the clutch and was a bit too inflexiable.

I'm using 8mm for the adjustable backstay and traveller which worked well .

	Certainly do not go more than 10mm diam as friction will be your enemy. But while you are at it may i suggest 8mm dynema. As well as that I made my vang & backstays fom 6mm dynema cascades using friction rings. The final fall of the backstay cascade has a 4:1 set of blocks with 4mm vectran. That set up gives me 32;1 & is far lighter than the original Hanse setup. Edited by samuel - 23 April 2024 at 13:51

	Hi Stu For what it’s worth on dragonfly I use 8mm dyneema for the jib and main halyards to reduce friction and help with accurate tensioning, 6mm for the backstay, main sheet traveler and vang. The backstay and vang have a 6:1 advantage The two reefs are 8mm, and the main sheet with 6:1 is also 8 mm. Pete

	Karisma has 8mm dyneema on her halyards (and backstay ) and 6mm dyneema on reefs, outhaul and kicker. Headsail sheets are something else easily handled, I forget as the whole lot was specced in 2013 by Andy Freemantle. All still perfect and running fine. But clutches and ST winches were specced for the change; she has harken 40.2 winches all round and not the harken 8/antal 16 OEM. Upgrading the running rigging requires a winch upgrade.

	Thanks both. I’ve gone for 10mm purely on cost, end of reel, we don’t use her that much and am also repairing the jib, won’t win any prizes but hopefully I’ll get to use her more than can justify the cost of dynema and new sails! Cheers Stu
