Hello to everyone. I'll create this new topic to meet other 331 owners and exchange tips and material on the 331. My name is Vinci and I am the solo 331 owner in Italy. I bought it in 2001 and my boat was probably one of last one to be produced. I invite all the 331 owner to write down their experiences on the 331 and exchange information here. I would also appreciate to have more information about the history of this model to the Hanse Factory. I read various mails in the net asking for this info. I use to sail in Tuscany, Sardinia and Corsica and I always had great time with my boat. Actually, I just came back from a three weeks sailing vacation and we sailed various days with a 35+ knots with great performances of the boat. I'm planning for a very long trip by next year when I will get a sabbatical and spend a year sailing around in the Med. I will publish some pictures of the boat soon on the site. First two questions to all the 331 owners: 1. Does anyone already try a max prop on the boat? Which is the right one to be used? how does it act the boat with it? 2. Does anyone already try to use a bowsprit on the 331. How do you attached it to the bow? Fair winds to all you guys!

Hi Vinci Sue here. When we were in Jersey a couple of years ago there was a man who owned a 331 - I think his name was Chris, Chris if you are out there HI.. This guy had fitted a bowsprit to his boat and the mechanism was rigged so that it was able to be pushed in and out - sorry do not know how he constructed it though. It would be nice to hear from other 331 owners and get handy tips etc. Sue |

Hi Sue, tks for the Reply and.. CHRIS... ARE YOU OUT THERE? Still very warm around here and we are going to spend this weekend sailing in the Tuscany's islands. I'm attaching a picture of my Hanse "Muso Nero" sailing in the bay where it lies during winter time. I don't know if I will remain the boat for the next year. As I wrote before I'm planning a sabbatical and I may sell the boat for buying a longer one for this occasion. If someone is interested... just knock here. Nice weekend and fair wind to all "Hanser" reading this

I am looking for some ideas on how to fit some form of rubber protection to the back of our boat to protect the gel coat. Having looked at other makes of boat they seem to have some sort of white rubber 'buffer' attached - but they seem to have a lip that the rubber is attached to. Do any of you out there have a rubber protection on your boats?? If so I would be grateful if you could share your ideas etc - or if you know of a supplier in the UK where we could purchase some protection, and how to fit it effectively - that would also be great. Cheers Sue |

Well here I am trying again. SILVER HANSE before the self tacking jib was removed to make way for a genoa to enhance her performance...... Perhaps if this does not work - someone out there could advise me as to what I am doing wrong Sue |

i am thinking of buying a 331 1999. the pictures i have show the boat with no mast and in heated storage. Does the mast enter the cabin at the forepeak/saloon bulkhead, leaving the saloon space free of mast. How do they compare with the Bavaria 32 which i was going to buy. Any coments please |

My piccie worked!!!!!!! Radiance We have a 331 and you are correct in saying that the mast does not take space up in the main cabin - it is very well done. Again will try to take a piccie if that helps. Mmmmm - Bavaria - Nice but - Hanse is quicker, but a tad narrower than the bavaria. Sue |
