There is no force on the tube, the ruddershaft is fixed below in the hull at at the upper end in the deck. Nevertheless the tube ist laminated to bulkhead - better than on my former ship ( hanse 342 ). There it was standing free and was fixed nowhere.

And this is - as an example - how it is made on a RM1250 - seen on the BOOT 2013.

Understood, thanks.
Do you have any more photos of the 415 in build? It's interesting to see the innards before access is restricted when they fit the deck.

Hi,
The 385 also has a large area behind the quarter births where Lazarette lockers would be useful, you can access it through the quarter births on either side, we store a lot of excess less often used gear there, for example an inflatable canoe, paddles, six spare fenders, used when going through the Crinan canal, the boarding ladder, not needed with the drop down transom, wet suits for those brave enough to snorkel in Scotland, even with this lot in there is still lots of room which I agree due to limited access appears wasted. Our heater is also in there but is tiny in the space. Jon |

Roger,
I guess because of our time zone of GMT +9 I often see spam entries on the forum but with 6-8 hours their entries seem to disappear which I assumed was the work on a forum administrator. I noticed this spammer had made two entries this morning our time which were nonsensical giberish which is always a giveaway. They seem to always list a website to go to and often list gold, watch etc in the name. If you have answered in a particular forum and the spammer appears on that particular forum you would get the normal email advise that additional answers to the forum had been posted. I think you can turn this notification email off if you want in your member control panel.

Ah - that explains it - thanks Wayne.
I hadn't realised that the Forum Administrator has probably removed the offending message. I understand about the notification but will leave it turned on unless the SPAM gets to be a real nuisance. I like to be informed of any activity on threads I have contributed to, particularly this thread!
