Hello,

Anything special I should worry (or be happy) about if looking at a Hanse 545 from 2010? Did they use Jefa then already?

545 2010
It is the Jefa system with kwadrant, cables and chain Very reliable

The only things we had to replace form new till now was the magnet’s of the clutch( corrosion on the magnet pastilles)and last year the pancake motor of the drive.

What about the standard (2,80m) vs option (2,43m) keel? What are the performance penalties for going shoal?

Hello in my opinion there’s no big difference between bought versions about performing and behavior on sea. I have sail bought before we decided to go for the2,43.
In the Med 2,80 is a p.in the a. In the small harbors.
The only problem with the 2,43 :the upper part is iron( 2,80 compleet Iron) the lower part is lead and the quality of the lead(recuperate?)is poor with a lot of dirt inside
This year we sand blasting the whole keel and put a epoxy filler and coating on it. (West system )
Hope this can help you.

We are considering to buy a second hand 545 with a draft of 2,8 m for sailing in the North Sea (France, Belkgium, UK), southern part of Netherlands and maybe to Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Any reasons not to buy one? We are aware that there will be some ports for which the draft is too deep like Blankenberge for instance.
