Hi,

Now that you own the bot do yourself a favour and :

a) check all water hose clamps if they are tight and if there are two of them in the high pressure side and where the hose connects to a thru hull fitting. (In this way you also get familiar to the water system of the boat.)

b) check if the high amperage (thick ones) DC power cables are tightly fit to the devices (anchor ,bowthruster, winches, chargers, inverter and of course batteries and main switches.)  loose DC cable can lead to  fire.

c)check the hatches for leaks

d) be conservative with the main sheet tension and with jibes until you have a good feeling of the forces involved.

You have a fantastic boat !! Enjoy it!

hello Kacanal,

I think we are almost neighbors. We have also a 545e delivered and rigged(most by myself together with one rigger) in june at Koper Slovenia, and sail the boat to Marmaris Yacht Marina(we did al together more than 2.500 miles) where we have a berth year contract. We did it slowly to familiarize with the boat, most of the time with 3 or 2 people and thats going well. We have the version with the normal ACL North mainsail(no in mast roller)on the selden mast.
We have many problems to solve on the way and Hanse is not always very easy, so our dealer haved get a lot of emails en phone's.Most of these problems we have to solve by ourselves, the send you spare parts but it takes a lot of time, and the wont not send those to Turkey(costum regulations ect) ,communication with the yard is not always easy.
Onfortunaly many important parts are poorly or not accessible(battery's wastetanks, the fuel anti-splash system etc.) I have to take out lot furniture and most of those are glued so I have to destroyed then on some place's to get a better access.
About leaking hatches ,the water comming from around the flush hatches(front cabine or cabine's) get away on small canals under the teakdeck and leave the boat by Vetus airbreathers, nice but the productionpeople from Hanse leave the inox filters inside, the are blocked in a few weeks by sand and dirt so water come in to the boat, so take those filters away so quick as possible, and you have less problems with the leaking Lewmar hatches.
I have a major problem to take fuel, the airbreather system of the fueltank and the anti-splash is bad designed and poorly constructed (tank airhose do not going upwards but downwards so the air can not leave the tank, simulary for the airhose of the unaccesseble anti-splash Vetus system)  while we are filling, fuel is constantly coming out of the fillercap and airbreather. When we are finish with filling there is a big bang in the tank (deformed because the air can not get out)the fuel is spray out with force by the filler an airbreather.I am still working on a solution for this.Hanse comment:change the hose.Easy to tell but not to do.Controle this and let your dealer fix this if it is not right.
Take care about the new rectable mooringclamps from MAXSEA.While we ware mooring in Heraklion on Crete for a few days with a big swell in de habour one of the rectable clamp screw unfurl there selve and the boat was not mooring anymore. If you give me your email adress(it seams I have no authorization on this forum for this) I can send you some pictures how this happend.By a control I find out that this was in progress by all the clamps. We take contact with the italian factory an there answer:Use LOCTITE 270. I dont think so, with loctite 270 the will never coming loose , thats means you can never take then aways without destroyed then.If you want more tips about thinks who needs your attention, please let me know.

Many of the problems are not solved on the moment but I did a lot of improvements, who are not standard, by my selve( micro, freezer, elect toilets, airco, generator with electric configuration, central heating and hotwater system etc.) and than you learn a lot about your boat and find solutions to solve the problems.I think there are always problems on a new boat, but I hope Hanse will do something with the information we give then and improve there production quality.Less glue and more screwwork,Sikaflex is a good product but not for all the jobs the use it for.
I wish you all the best with your new boat.
By the way:Our boat sails like a dream

hello anpr001,
The most important, like for a girlfriend our a fast car, you choose a boat with your heart.
If you choise with your head,I believe the Jeanneau dealer in Turkey is more experienced with commissioning of sailsboats, the last years I have seen many new Jeanneau's owned by Turkish sailors.I believe the Turkish Hanse dealer in Istanbul is more a motorboat dealer till now and new in the Hanse group, working with the Hanse yard is not always easy, you have to by shure you can count on your dealer for support.
I have visit the Jeanneau 53 this weekend on a local boatshow in Belgium and
why I still stay by the 545.
Inside:much more feeling of space and light, safer stairs, more and bigger lockers, electric panel of the Jeanneau is very poor, many different floor levels in the 53 Jeanneau
Outside:easy sailhandling, garage, bigger cockpit, bigger steering wheels important by double steering, position on the wheels is better by the 545.
About sailing, I have no experience with the Jeanneau but the 545 a very good and ,when the rigging is right, very fast even with small wind.
Regarding the spec. problems I haved to solve on my boat I will send you a e-mail.
There are always problems with new boats.Count on this.

Hi Wild,

are you turkish?

The main differance between Jeanneau53 and Hanse 545 which makes the decision for me difficulte is that the jeanneau has a %145 genoa but hanse has a small flok. As result hanse is a boat which sails mainley with the main sail. How would that effect the sailing comfort? What is your opinion to that?

Hello anpr001
Now, I am not turkisch I'm from Belgium but I live 6 months a year on our boat in Turkey.Unfortunaly I do not speak Turkisch.
The Hanse 545e with the selfturning High aspect fok is very easy to handle ,upwind you can sail the boat to a app.windangle lower than 30° and still making speed.Tacking go very fast almost without  reduce of speed and with a finger in the nose.On the other hand by a angle of 80° or more and small wind this frontsail wil not work anymore so you need a gennaker but still the Hanse will keep speed because of the big mainsail.
IMO the Jeanneau 53 with the bigger genua will do a little better in this conditions(app. windangle 80°-110°) but with small wind you will need a gennaker just like on the 545.
I agree with TAIMA, downwind everthing will sail but you only have a good sailingsensation(15-20 knots wind) if you can go high and fast, close to the wind(good VMG) and tacking while the boat keep speed, that's what the 545e do.I think with the Jeanneau 53 you lose speed and height by tacking(with a smal crew and a Big genua) and it take a lot of time to rebuild op the speed again.
