Hi

I'm about to install a Webasto Air Top Evo 3900 or Eberspächer D4/D4+ in our Hanse 371 from 2005.

We have the version with 2 aftercabins and I would like to know how you have installed the hoses from the heater to the exhausts. Pictures or drawings are very appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

This may not help as it is a set of build pictures for a 370 2 cabin model. However, the photos may give you some ideas of where you can mount the heater and run the heater hoses.

On my 370 the heater outlet is under the wardrobe in the rear cabin. On the port side this then runs straight into the heads. In the main saloon the outlet is on the starboard side by the table and again in the front cabin under the starboard wardrobe.

Not my boat but a very useful resource for 370 owners.

Thanks a lot for sharing Peter!

The location of the heater will be in the same position as on the 370.

My main issue is to find the way from the heater to the main saloon for the 90 mm hose (75 mm if I go for the D4 Plus).

Hi,
I took some photos from the heate rinstallation in my 411. Your 370 is probably not too different from the 411. You will find the pictures at:

Thanks Jøvani,

Our 371 is probably more similar to the 341/342 series.

One thing you may want to consider if you are installing it yourself is to insulate the heater ducting. That way you'll not heat the empty spaces in the lockers, but have really hot air out the vents. I think thinsulate is often used, probably not cheap, but probably worth it.

Hi Peter

I will most probably insulate parts of the heater ducting, especially where the hose passes the fridge and the compressor...   Smile

Another thing we had on an earlier boat was a drainige hose for protection of the heater hose.
This we used in those areas where the heater hose could be damaged.
Exists in a number of dimensions (and colors).

I really would like to get in touch with a 371 owner with a double aft cabin (and a heater).

Hi,
Did you solve your heating installation on your 371 last year?

I did mine 2004 (Ebersprächer D4) and it's still working perfect.

Send me an PM if you still need help.

Hi Jesper,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, we did install en Eberspächer D4 Plus last year.

Got in contact with a 371 owner in Gothenburg with a 2 cabin version that helped a lot.

Will try this autumn to put together some documentation and pictures from the installation.

The heater was very appreciated last weekend when we went for a short sailing trip   Smile

HI,
I'm trying to get in touch with a 371 owner in your area (I live in Västerås) who don't have a bowspit (peke). I have contacted a company in Gothenburg that will make me one butt they need a boats to take meassures on. The old jigs from STB was destroyed when the owner died.

What else have you done on your 371?
My improvements/isnallations are:
-Ebersprächer D4 heater (3 cabin version)
-Boiler
-solar panel
-Inboard autopilot linear drive (Raymarine typ 1)
-Hardened glass between sink and dinette/sofa
-Sterling Power advanced regulator
-preassurized sea water
-Davits for my RIB
-Victron Batt meter
-Extra drawer under the sofa next to the kitchen/gallery
-Stereo, WHF,GPS,Plotter etc

If you are interested in enything I can send pictures. Some of the improvements were quite simple but added alot of valu (like the extra drawer and the protection between kitchen and sofa). The sterling advanced regulator was also a huge improvement to the poor oiginal one from Yanmar/Hitachi that never charged more than 13,8V. I now get 14,4 and 70A out of the 60A alternator!
