Hello to all Have just found this site so have decided to sign up We live in the UK and sail a HANSE 331, unfortunately there do not seem to be many 331's around as the 341 came out I think the year after we bought SILVER HANSE back in 2000. She is a lovely boat and an absolute dream to sail, she has behaved impeccably through a range of weathers up to a top end of an 7!! NOT NICE.... Would love to hear from other owners. Sue and Graeme |

Hi Sue and Graeme, welcome here. I think its a good place to meet people with the same interests and to discuss everything around that fine bboats. And - our Hanse-Meting in Willemstad/Netherlands is still a few weeks ago - its more nice to meet each other in reality. If you like, you'll find a lot of pictures in the Hanse 341 section from this meeting. Kind regards Ralf Where do you sail in the UK? |

Hi there Ralf Good to hear from you We sail in the Solent and across the English Channel - we would like to go further afield but due to work commitments unable to take more than 2 weeks leave at a time and only have 4 weeks in any one year. Our boat is moored just inside Porsmouth harbour. I did take a look at the HANSE rally photo's - so many boats. We do not seem to have quite so many HANSE boats in the UK at the moment but their popularity is increasing. The perfomance of these fine boats is second to none. When we were in Cherbourg in July we had a HANSE 371 moored next to us. Kind regards Sue.

Hi Alan And Maggie Good to hear from you. When we took delivery of SILVER HANSE there was a 301 next to us and she was from Chichester. It would be nice to see more HANSE boats in the Solent area as I am sure wyou would agree. Hopefully with the boat show coming up Peter and his crew will sell a few more. Well we have bank Holiday next weekend and we are off on a rally to Bembridge. May see you on the water. Happy sailing Sue

Hi Sue & Graeme We are Hanse 315 (Francesca) owners who are "pond" sailors based on Windermere. We have known about the site for a while but only just noticed that the "my Hanse" forum had been set up. When we previously tried it, it was still under construction. We love our boat and try to sail, work permitting, as many weekends as we can. I don't know much about the 331. Is she much different to the 341? There is a wide selection of models on Windermere ranging from the 301 right through to the new 531!!! Happy sailing!!!!!

Hi Tony, the Hanse 331 one is a complete different boat with an old style from the '80. The 341 and now the 342 even more are modern styled boats! Which model ist 315?? Is that a UK Version of the 311? Regards Thomas. |

Hi Tony Yes Thomas is right the 331 is an older shape. I had a look at a 341 at the last Southampton boat show - the varnish on the woodwork inside is very glossy and the heads are just as you go down the comanion way (our heads are forward next to the V berthat the front), if I remember rightly the 341 has a door from the heads into a huge walk in locker area. She is a nice boat but I love our 331 - AND she sails like a dream... Speak again soon Sue |

Hi Guys, Yes Thomas, the 315 is a version that was only sold in the UK. It is basically a 311 but with a slighly different interior. Although I think the boat with this interior was sold as 311 elsewhere. Interestingly enough all my paperwork regarding the purchase of the boat states that it is a 315 yet on the hull and the sail it says 311!!!!! (If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, maybe it's a duck!!!!) I must keep my eyes open for the 331, Sue, she sounds like a more traditional design if the heads are forward. Do you have the usual self tacking gear etc? Anyway, have to dash off to work now. Missing sailing this weekend cos I'm working in Blackpool. (Deep deep joy!!) Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention my better halfs name in the first post. Joanna is my favourite galley slave and she's good around the rest of the boat as well. See you soon. Tony & Jo

Hi Tony and Jo Ahhhh - Blackpool, the big switch on this weekend isn't it. Must admit when we were up there last year the people on the side walk were more of an entertainment than the lights. Back to the boat - yes she does have the self tacking gear, however we purchased a Genoa this year and have not used the self tacker at all. The boat as I am sure can well imagine goes a lot faster with the genoa - but i did like the laziness of the self tacker..... Enjoy Blackpool. Sue |
