Yes, it is aft of the engine on centerline. To access, from the port aft berth, remove the cushions and lift up the panel near the center of the boat. If you have to get it out, or for full access, you have to remove two screws holding the storage cabinet on to the bulkhead. Then you can get above it and lift it out if you need to. The cabnet f heavy, I recommend a second pair of hands. Rob

Hi,
This is how it looks like in my boat: The stainless steel cylinder is the hot water tank.

Hi
I'm installing a cockpit table and need as you show in your picture remove the cabinet mounted below the cockpit in BB aft cabin. Can you please more in detail explain how you managed to get it removed. Until I read your note I have assumed it's glued in place and very labor-intense to get it out. The cockpit table I'm installing is for one of the larger Hanse yachts which means I need to do some foundation work to make sure the cockpit table will be strongly installed. Tx Patrik |

mine more or less fell down by itself. It is fastened with screws to the longitudinal bulkhead, but the aft end on mine, was also glued in place with some sikaflex and disintegrated/losened itself from the rest of the cabinet.

Mine was not glued; just the two screws inside the cabinet, across the top, one on each end. Rather tiny screws also! I just took those out and the cabinet came right down.

I have six visible screws in the back of the cabinet. Removing these and nothing happens. My cabinet is fixed more in the middle of the longitudinal bulkhead, meaning I can access with tools right of the cabinet and bend in between the back of the cabinet and the longitudinal bulkhead. Even applying very high force no indication of seeing the cabinet get loose.
I can only assume that the whole back of the cabinet has been glued to the bulkhead. Sent an email today to Hanse but with not much hope of getting a reply before the summer kicks in. Thanks to both of you sharing your experiences, really much appreciated!
