I have a 415, commissioned 2016..I want to install genoa tracks ( have only had self tacker to date)..any advice , do I need to bolt through the deck strong points and so remove the headliner ?
Or can I use appropriate screws ?
Does anyone have tracks already so i can see their install please ?

I installed tracks last year on my 355 , 2011. If you get the deck plans they should show you where the aluminum reinforcement plates are. I used a builders stud finder to confirm the location and then used self tapping screws to attach the tracks. From memory the plates on the 355 were about 10mm below the deck surface and were about 10mm thick. I did not need to remove the headliner internally.

Hi, if you search the ‘manuals and drawings’ section you should find this as I believe I uploaded it a few years ago

From 2nd page of deck reinforcement drawing it is immediately behind the outboard ends of the jib traveller on the coach roof

So what is the conclusion on bolting thru vs just attaching into the plates?
Are the reinforcements metal (aluminum) or just plywood?
I'm interested in this mod as well for my 415.  Can i ask what size sail you're looking to fit?

Hi Simon
These are factory installed aluminium plates, the same spec as for all other items that are fixed to the deck or coachroof.
The Genoa tracks can only take a 105% headsail because of the fact that the shroud plates are on the outer edge of the deck.
All the best
