Hi all...
Anyone know the make/model of the self tacking jib track? I assume it is Selden but can't see anything to confirm that. The reason for asking is the rubber end stop have failed and I don't want to leave a metal on metal collision on tracks and gybes. If anyone knows where to get replacements of these that would be great. Thanks. George.

Morning George,
I bought these a couple of years ago plus another two for spares, I'll dig out the paperwork and let you know.

it depends on the Modelyear. Either Seldén or most probably Lewmar.

George,
Spares are on the boat and as you know storm Francine has come to play for a while. I've a part number 29171046 for size 1 2046 for size 2 and 3046 for size 3 in the Lewmar catalouge (Edition 14), but when I can I'll check on board see if they're stamped and take some picks to make sure you can judge the likely size of yours.

I asked Inspiration Marine and they reckon it is a Pfeiffer system (I've never hear of them). Inspiration are the sole UK distributor...

Hello George
I think it is Pfeiffer Marine. I made contact with them some years ago in connection with my H400e. They were immensely helpful and mailed the parts I needed. Sadly I don't have the name of the person I dealt with. Hope this helps. brgds Richard

Morning George,
I'm convinced the only reason the seahorses in Studland Bay are an endangered species is because they can't hear themselves calling over the racket of Jet Ski's, speed boats, dragging inflatable whatsits with excitable's on board, water skiers and the inconsiderate motor cruiser, who thinks that 20kts is still appropriate to go through the middle of those of us who can't anchor on the shore line! Still, as you guessed we spent a couple of days on board and I dug out the track end stops, the only marking on them is a number 507 and whilst the photo doesn't show the centre of holes accurately it would appear to be 46 mm not the 50 mm you show. From memory I think the local chandler rang Lewmar for me who found the right bits for me, but I can't remember whether the man from Lewmar suggested another source or whether mine are from them. I would try Lewmar and see if they point you in another direction. In the meantime I'm going to try and invent headsets for Seahorses! |

uploads/5816/19-03-14_NTR_Spares__Data.pdfThanks Jon B. I would agree with your 46mm spacing, the camera angle on my shot makes it look more. I am in touch with Lewmar eventually, we are getting closer. They think it is an NTR track and the spares are in this catalogue. Not quite got the right one yet, but closer.
Regarding the high speed erratic water traffic in Studland and elsewhere, I can only agree and watch while more tragedies unfold. Many are talking about regulation, but that will be hard and a blunt instrument I suspect. Cheers, George.
