Low Voltage Alarm

   I am occasionally getting a low voltage alarm on the chartplotter (NSS8)/instruments even though the service battery is reading 12.5V. I have checked the alarm setting on the NSS8 (the only item connected to the Simnet where it can be changed, I think, although the NSS8 and Simnet have separate 12V connections) and it is set to 12V. I have (possibly!) solved the immediate problem by resetting this alarm level to 11V (decimal places not available) but I am naturally curious where the apparent 0.5V drop is occurring. Also 11V is lower than I would like if there is a 'real' battery low problem.
Firstly, does anyone know how to determine if the low battery alarm indication applies to the NSS8 or the Simnet? The manuals for both NSS8 and Simnet instruments (IS20s, wind and autopilot head) are sadly lacking in detail on alarms.

If the latter (Simnet), to avoid having to poke around in the wiring does anyone know where the 12v from the switch panel is connected to the Simnet?

Finally, is there anywhere convenient on the Simnet where the voltage can be easily measured with a multimeter - I am not too keen too explore with a test probe in a spare Simnet socket, especially while underway!
