The solution is to not close the zip every day.
You really do not need to do it when cruising. the sail stay in its position without trouble. If the wind raise you can easily put in place some bands to secure it. Having said that when I have to close the zip my 18 years old boy climb on the boom and close it in a few minutes crawling on it for the full length. |

So what about the exposed luff? i put the front part of the sail cover on every time I dock to avoid the effects of UV. That applies even if I intend to sail the following day. Just seems poor show to allow it to deteriorate unnecessarily
