We tried the asymmetric last weekend. We were just 3 on board so we were not exactly trimming to perfection.
With 12 to 13 knots true wind we did 10 to 11.5 at 140 degrees (true) and 8.5 to 10.5 at 160 degrees (also true). Sailing so deep requires a constant effort by the helm: I drove up a few degrees until the speed picked up a bit and created apparent wind. then I used the apparent to run until the speed dropped, then up again... moving up down like a snake.
