I recently bought a Hanse 370. As for any (new) owner, I want to make it my own with some upgrades.
Currently there is a Raymarine Pilot installed which is not connected to N2K. It is also not the "smart" version. I want to update the pilot to B&G, since all my other displays are B&G already. This also means a fully integration with N2K. Is there any owner sailing with B&G autopilot and which type? NAC2 is for boats until 10m and 9 tons NAC3 is for boats over 10M. I doubt whether I can use the NAC2 or have to invest in the NAC3 (+ EUR700). Thanks for the advice.

For normal requirements the NAC2 should work since the drive doesn’t take the max current.
If you are looking for offshore / more challenging circumstances then go for the NAC3 . It will be quicker /better in difficult situations. Daily cruising is fine for the NAC2 BR Thomas

The planning is the lakes in The Netherlands and Northsea.
Want to be able to have a reliable autopilot to sail with gennaker in about 20 knots at sea. No plans to sail any ocean or a circumnavigation. |
