Hi Johann,

60 sqm sounds really very small. 80-85 sqm or more if possible would be much better.
When we sailed last weekend in a 5-6 kn breeze with our 105 sqm gennaker (Hanse 370) there was a 342 on the same course. They had also a Gennaker up. but we have been very much faster with our 370. The speed diffrence would be normally about 4-5%, (Yardstick Hanse 342 = 95 Hanse 370 = 91) but we were easily 2 kn faster = about 20-30%.  They were wondering what they did wrong.....It was more like they were standing and we racing. I think their Gennaker was to small too. Size makes the diffrence in  light winds

60 sqm is more for strong wind sailing with gennaker on a 342 i think..

We had a 92 sqm Genny on our recent 341. That was really big, too big but it feels good and faaaaast.

I got a quote from another sail maker and they thought 93 square metres would be a good size.

I have sailed my gennaker in winds up to 14 m/s so I guess it's not the light wind gennaker they said it would be.

Wow, 14m/s is high 6 nearly 7 Bft.
I am impressed. OK this may be the wind this Genny is made for. But in this strong wind you nearly do not need anymore a Genny because the boat is already fast without. In low winds it is way to small. Only if i would be racing i would take the Genny out in these conditions. but not mine, mine is way to big for 6 Bft.

We do sail with a spinaker , this caused by my history of sailing with a spinaker , but since we most of the times this year have had reaching conditions , the genny also will be bought once we have saved enough money.

This is our big 135m2 spinaker.( i don't have a better picture jetCry)
greetings Marcel

Thanks for the great video. I saw that you are using a kind of a german sheeting system. Is it connected to the genua tracks? Could you explain it a little, because it looks like something i wanted to change too.
