Hi!
I´m quite new to this forum. My name is Magnus and I am living in Stockhom Sweden. I got my 325 (Fiona) delivered last friday november 4.
Everything went very quicly. Two months a go, buying a brand new boat was only a dream. After working on acceptance from my wife, other things in my life made it impossible to make the deal. But finally things worked out and two weeks ago I started the process of buying. In the end, last wednesday, I had not recived a confirmation that the boat was ready for delivery. But at lunch time I got the confirmation. At 04:00 PM I was on my way to Greifswald. Thursday I inspected the boat and paid for it. Friday 10:40 I was on my way back to Sweden. When we were filling up the freshwater tank the water suddenly stopped. The system was about to get drained for the winter. But they were kind enough to let us fill her up.
We had a smooth trip of 450 Nm to the winter harbour in lake Malaren. We sailed nonstop for 64,5 hours (393Nm) with a crew of two persons.
The weather conditions this november could have been worse. It was actually quite warm. But unfortunatly the wind was a bit weak. I just love the boat, and I can´t wait for the official handover in April next year.

Welcome to the forum, Magnus! Sailing from Greifswald to Stockholm in November is brave. I am glad to hear the weather was nice.
I also keep my boat in Mälaren. During the winter she is in a ice-free berth in Årstaviken. I am looking forward to see you around. Johan |

Congratulations to your new boat.
Your boat has a impressive mastrake, or is it just the foto? Interesting is that you sailed 64.5 hrs in a row with an average of 6.1 kn. Thats really impressive for a 325! How did you manage to get the boat for a 450 nm sailing trip and the official handover is next april? ![]() I was not allowed to go onto my boat before it was completely paid and there had to be the handover first before the very 1 sailing mile! I would not trust a Swede to make the maiden voyage.... But I don't think Hanse at Greifwald knows naval history. http://vasamuseet.se/en/The-Ship/The-sinking/

To be honest, The motor was running quite a bit. Due to poor winds...
But the first 24 hours was fine and we made good speed.

Fiona
I had to wait 4 months for delivery of my 311
Are you saying you only took 2 weeks from order to collection?
Half the "fun" of buying a boat is paying your money & waiting for someone in the chain to go bust with it in their pocket.
You do not realise how lucky you are
I bet you even got a discount
That,s an EU recession for you !!!
Think of all the planning & dreaming & lost sleep you missed out on-
It is getting a bit like popping down to the local supermarket for some groceries |

Well, It could appear that way.But the truth is far from it... Firstly I have been dreaming about a 32 foot since 1987. The last few years I almost gave up... My wife is not so keen on sailing and I bet she hoped that I´ll "kick the habit". Finally I decided to go for it. After long and hard negotiations with the wife I got the all clear and started the negotiation with the dealer. When we had reached an agreement the recession hit me in the face when I was made redundant from my work. I called the seller to prospone the deal and was in the same time informed that I could get another boat with much more equipment on it, for the same price. I almost cried... The week before I got my notice I had been headhunted by another company and after a couple of (endless) weeks we reached an agreement and I got offered to become an asociate in this company as well. As soon as I got hired I called my Hanse dealer to go on with the buy. They suggested that I pay the boat fully now and pick it up in the spring 2012. That did not sound to good to me. Pay now and wait and see if they are still in business in the spring? Talk about sleepless nights , I think I already had my fair share of that, seeing my dream go to waste and living on wellfair... However finally we decided that I go to see the boat, pay for it and got it transport sailed up to sweden rigth away. In the end I got to be a member of a two persons crew for the transport... So to make along story short: Yes I have had sleepless nights Yes I have plenty of time planning for this and Yes I am still living the same dream as I´ve had for 24 years and it will be a VERY long winter this year. Finally, No, it has been nothing like going out for some groceries. Things are almost never as they seem. But you are right Samuel, right now I am just a very happy camper (sailor), who got lucky more than once this last month. Cheers! /M
