Hi,
I'm about to install a waterproof socket on the port side, to the left of the rope clutches, under the sprayhood.
I'm going to get the 12v from the toilet ceiling light cabling.
If I drill the plain surface from above, and then have the socket vertical (1 in the picture),  I could easily reach the cable but I'd like to know if the "rim" to the side is solid or , if drilling laterally and having the socket parallel to the surface (2 in the pic), I could still get down to the flat surface above the toilet ceiling.
Does anybody have already done that? Otherwise I'll try to find out with a wifi endoscope camera inserted from inside the toilet light hole.
I hope I made myself clear!

Done!Smile
The edge is void so I drilled an 8 mm hole on the vertical side, position 2 in the previous pic, and fed a piece of fishing net, tied to a small diameter rope. I then reached the net from below, bathroom ceiling light hole, and recovered it with a grabbing tool. Piece of cake.
I then got power from the light cabling, very thick, 2,5mm I suppose, and passed the wire to the cockpit where I installed  a 10 amp waterproof socket.

Nice, i know you said it is waterproof but in my unfortunately experience they tend to corrode just from being in salty air.

I have another near the helm which is there, intact, since 9 years.

If you're looking to install an american power socket in that area, space can be an issue, especially with the existing cable runs. I had a similar challenge and ended up using a shallow surface-mounted box, positioned carefully to avoid interfering with the rope clutches.
