Hi Guys.

Got a question for you all. Last season I had a recurrent issue with water not flowing freely through the salt water coolant system. After a few dives and a poke around in the inlet holes on the sail drive it tended to start gushing out the back again.

She's now out the water and after looking at the sail drive (see picture) it looks like there are barnacles which are likely blocking the inlet. I'm worried that they may cause the engine to overheat or worse by stopping water flow.

Love to hear your thoughts. Is it antifoulable?

You have to paint the sail drive with a primer, then with a antofouling paint with NO COPPER (Trilux 33 or similar)

I antifoul my saildrive using an appropriate paint. Still get growth in the intake area. Every now and again I use a hose from the pontoon to reverse flush the intake from the strainer to the saildrive leg. This helps to remove any growth in that area and keeps the water flowing
