Hi!
As my new main sail is bigger than the original and doesnt fit anymore inside the backstay, a friend of my designed this new thingi (dont know if there is a name for it) and an other friend of my constructed it. The backstays top point is now moved backwards with 135 mm and the sail can pass easily. I believe that 150mm would been better but is me being picky. Next version might be slightly longer.

If anyone is intrested let me know, my friend is taking orders.

Marco

I have just removed my backstay.
The kick on my boat is so strong that I finally decided that I do not need it. :-)

I believe what you're referring to having removed is the topping lift, at least that's what I hope you mean. Your mast wouldn't remain vertical very long if you removed the backstay.

Marco, I want one! 150mm sounds perfect. Just let me know price and where to pay it.  Please include shipping to US.  If that inflates price too much, just send prints and I'll have it made here. Thanks.

Marco,
I noticed that your back stay is Dyneema cable.
What kind of rope, diameter & brand is it ?
Thanks

Sorry, forgot about this one.....

And yes, I was a little quick on this one. I removed the toplift and not the backstay.
