Hi,
I am considering a modification of the Helm station
As the center position of the chart plotter is not very ergonomic and does not provide a good visibilty from either of the two Helm stations, I would like to modify by mounting two separate nav pods on top of the jefa steering housing, as many of the newer boats have.
I just cannot find out who the manufactures are and where to purchase a retrofit. I prefer two separate chart plotters from one in the center and might even want to house additional instruments like B&G Triton
In there
Any help or hint very much appreciated
Thanks everybody
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Phil from Inspiration Marine has equipped several Hanse's with grad rails. You should explore however before ordering how you would route power and simnet cables to the plotters. Imho this might be show stopper.

.
I can't remember the exact layout on the 470 but my own 385 was delivered with a centre pod with 9" Zeus (aft end of the cockpit table) and Tritons mounted on the side decks.

I replaced my port Triton with a Vulcan 7, although it's possible a 9" might just about fit there.  I only needed to add a power source as the Vulcan connects to the network using the cable previously used by the triton. And the version I have does not support ethernet.

This might be an alternative to building new pods.

I know the steel fabricators who manufacture the grab rails supplied by Inspiration Marine, although this is not likely to help as you are not UK based.
