Hi forumers! Wink

The original North self tacking jib is now about ten years old and it's time to change...

According to you, what kind of upgrade would be best:

Another self taking jib or a 105% one? Anyway, laminate and triradial...

Brufan, quel voilier a fabriqué votre nouvelle ST lattée?

It is much easier to change sails at sea if they do not have battens in them. One can carry the full ST upwind in winds up to F8 without furling, but probably not a bigger sail. A partially furled sail is not so nice to sail with. Thus one has to consider what winds one predominantly encounters. One option would be an ST with a furling code zero if funds permitted

I just got an email from our local North Sails loft after running into someone who works there at a regatta and chatting about headsail options.

They recently made headsails for a Hanse 400 that did well at the regatta, and the mix there was a 140% 3Di genoa and a furling Code 0... which is a bit more than just a jib upgrade!

That said, that 400 certainly did well.
