Have just bought a 2000 301 with 10 hp engine. TFX engine control unit. There is an issue with the throttle cable which has temporarily been sucessfully jury rigged. I have read the posts that indicate to access the control you have to cut through the side of the gas locker which seems a bit extreme. Just wondering if anyone knows of a less invasive workaround before i get the jigsaw out.

I was the one who has posted. I felt it should be easier to remove the gas locker than cut a hole in it. I perhaps got too impatient. It is held in by the  6 screws that fasten the three black gas bottle base blocks and a significant amount of Sikaflex. I would recommend being patient! You will then get the benefit of storing two camping gas bottles side by side at the rear of the locker once removed. A simple low bulkhead of plywood covered in epoxy has effectively replaced the single bottle box.

Hi!

I'm trying to remove the gas locker, but I don't see the screws. Are the screws screwed to the laterals or to down?
My gas locker was painted by the previous owner and I don't see it.

Best regards

The only screws were in the black plastic carriers under the gas bottle. The rest of the box is sika glued to the locker floor on its base and along the rear and side edges.

The base was the hardest part to cut loose.

I believe there is a solvent that will soften Sika but I can't remember its name.
