I am looking for ideas to add additional holding tank capacity to a 370.

Has anyone installed one under the aft cabin bunk?

How about in behind the steering gear in the transom??

Looking for any and all input.

Thank you

Carl

Thank you!!  I did see this.  It is a nice option

I would really like to not lose the closet space if possible.  It seems like there are some other places that a tank could be added.

Based on the layout of the 385 there is a nice space behind the aft cabins but the issue will be getting a tank of any size in there.  The 385 has smallish hatches on either side.  Maybe you could get a 35-40 litre tank or possibly join two smaller tanks?
Next problem is the length of pipe needed to run from the heads as well as a means of emptying...

I'm interested to see what others think.

The 370 has loads of space behind the aft cabins.  However, as you identify the access hatch is relatively small and getting a black water pipe from the heads to there will be problematic without major deconstruction.  It would certainly have to be pumped from the heads and also for the discharge.

Carl,

you should have in this case a panel in the shower. Take it off and you will detect a spacious compartment behind. I was able to fit a stainless steel tank with 50 ltr. which is connected to the tine 30 ltr tank Hanse fits. I installed a 2nd deck outlet and a 2nd vent for it.
I strongly recommend to fabricate a plywood or card box model first with all the necessary fittings attached before you order the SS final.

Interested in where the panel is that you say is in the shower compartment.  My 2008 370 has nothing aside from the existing holding tank panel that would fit this description.

If you use the search function you should find a post where I described the installation of a second black water tank in my 370 from 2008. I used the space above the seat in the shower compartment and coupled the two tanks together resulting in more than doubling the original volume.

Years ago I had Murera, a 30 feet sailboat. It had a plastic back waste water tank. Such solution fits to any a locker of any size and goes through any hatch,
