Hello. I'm wondering if anyone has an Eberspacher Airtronic D4 on a 415 (or 418) that was installed by Hanse. I am installing the system on my boat and it is clear from the owners' manual where the ductwork is located. The only trouble I am having is in the starboard cabin where the duct goes under the diesel tank filler hose. If anyone has an original system installed, might you be able to explain or take a photo to show how the duct cuts across the mid-line of the boat to reach the port side? My duct will be badly crushed. I can't imagine Hanse made the duct extremely small. Do they change how the diesel hose attaches? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Hi Kevin, We have a factory installed Eberspacher on our H418. We added the heating outlets in both aft cabins ourselves. The original duct certainly wasn/isn't crushed. Will make a picture of SB situation tomorrow when on board. ------------- Henk Touch of Grey H418 #028 |

Hi Kevin - The forum is only letting me upload one photo for some reason. Feel free to PM me and I can email a couple of others I took of the fwd end of the tank. I lagged my ductwork so the fwd end isn’t so easy to see, but the fuel and breather enter through the bulkhead on the inboard side and connect to the aft end of the tank on my 418. The heater duct runs outboard of the tank to a y junction where it continues fwd under the galley and stbd side saloon settee to the saloon / fore cabin. The branch off the first “y” has room ahead of the fwd end of the tank to go behind the engine to the port side aftcabin (and on the the heads). Hope this helps

Hello and Thank you very much. It appears the 418 has ductwork routed in a different fashion. Do you have duct-work to the port side that is routed through the transom? We have that duct on the starboard side in the same location. The manual shows a "Y" off that duct moving heat to the port side from that main duct (circled in red) that runs underneath the diesel tank fill hose. Maybe it is different since you have a 418. if I remember correctly my 418 manual drawing shows the ductwork first entering through the port aftcabin before a y junction at the fwd end of that berth then diverts it behind the engine and the across to the stbd side. However mine was clearly installed in the opposite orientation ie it first enters the stbd aft cabin. To me this would make sense as you are keeping a straighter run for the longer run of the duct fwd to the saloon and forecabin with the first y diverting only to the port aftcabin and heads ------------- Hanse 418 #64 EmBer.
