Hi All,

I just acquired a second hand Hanse 575 and we have no Owner´s Manual, and as such I´m having some difficulties with some of the things... Would be more than grateful if anyone could please help me sort some things out! Smile

On this Hanse 575, the garage can be accessed from the stern cockpit, underneath the seats for the skipper. However, this gate is relatively heavy and we are struggling to use it on a normal basis. Does anyone know if it can be used with an hidraulic system or if there is any botton that eases the lifting?

Many thanks

well,  first you might post in the 575 group versus 630..    :-)

Second...    there should be a hydraulic assist on both sides that makes it easier to lift.   If you want to make it easier, you can change the hydraulic cylinder / assist to something bigger.  These are inside the garage itself, but you should see them once you lift the cockpit stern up.

If they are not there,  well... that explains things...

Or the hydraulic lift assist units have failed and are not providing any lift assistance. If you disconnect them and there is no difference in the effort to lift the panel up then you can assume they have failed. You can buy new units from various places including the website Hanse.boatoon.com

Many thanks to you both!
And sorry for posting in the wrong group, I'm new here and wasn't sure how it worked! Will do it right next time!

There is usually a small pin clip that needs to be removed. Be sure that the gas spring is FULLY extended before removing, otherwise there will be considerable spring pressure on it. Dangerous!
