I am going to be installing a stern thruster in my 505 and I was wondering if someone could post what their stern thruster install looks like?  Would like to see detailed photos of the layout of where equipment is under the aft birth.   Truly appreciate this.

I meant to send you pictures of my stern thruster last weekend and I forgot.  I’ll send you some this weekend.  The set up is the same as the bow.

My thruster control is a dual control for the bow and stern. I started having serious trouble with it last month.  It got to a point where it would lower and fire when it wanted to. I would be sitting down below and I would hear it start to go.  Turns out the o ring in the control box broke and the terminals started to corrode. Open that control box up and make sure everything looks good!

Thank you very much for your photos coming and also your advice on the thruster units.  I remember reading about the issues you were having.  I am happy to hear you have them resolved.  Cheers!

I can’t seem to get pictures uploaded from my phone. Let me know how or send me your email and I’ll shoot the pictures over to you.

Justin,

It seems the main problem people have with uploading images is that the image can not be larger than 500kb. Any larger and the site will not load them.

Do you know where the placement of the charger and converters are for the stern thruster?  Doing the install this week and wasn't sure where the charger should be placed.   Are they placed further aft under the birth behind the thruster install.

Marc,

On our 575 there are two 12/24V 20 amp AC converters fitted at/under our AC main panel. One converter for the bow and one for the stern thruster. These draw power from the house battery bank.
