When on port tack with a freezer loaded with provisions,  the drawer pulls away from the frame enough that the it no longer seals and stays cold.  It will ice up inside from moisture which kills the efficiency.

For me, it's not a problem for a day sail.....but it is a problem for a multi day passage.

So, I'm thinking of adding some latches to pull the drawer tight against the frame and to provide additional security and support to prevent the drawer from falling out when the boat is heeling or in rough conditions.

There are lots of choices for these drawer latches (see image)....its overwhelming.   Has anyone made an improvement to the drawer latches to keep the drawer sealed tight and secure?

What did you do?  I don't want to re-invent the wheel and I'm looking for a simple, yet clean and robust solution.

I'd be interested in options as well.

Seems like you might need to look at a gasket of some kind around the drawer to improve the seal as well.

I use straps.  I put eye hooks across from each drawer on both sides, and attach bungie traps while on passage.
