I need to add and AIS transponder to my Hanse 415. I would like to wire it to the same switch that turns on all instruments.

Down the line I will probably add more electronics using the unused function buttons on the right.

Is there any wiring diagrams or instructions available for this sort of thing?

Thanks
Sean

My AIS transponder has been added behind the main switchboard and it not easy to get at while sailing.
As there may be times when I do NOT want to show my position I prefer to have it on a separate switch.  Note that my transponder is not integrated into my other instruments and I use the B&G V60 VHF for receiving AIS.
Mine is currently on F5 (XB 5.6).

I added mine to a spare F switch for the reasons Stuart says above. Plus, I have output the posn NMEA from it to an old Furuno Navtex which gives me GPS redundancy, but some have WiFi so could be seen on a tablet etc

Many thanks for all the replies. Plenty of reading material to look at.

I will consider putting the transponder on a separate switch as suggested.

Thanks all
Sean
