Hi to all

On our 508,we have a 12V/125 Amp alternator with a 4JH80 Yanmar engine.

Looking to upgrade alternator to 180-210 Amps.Has anyone upgraded their alternator and if so what did you use as alternator ?

How much do you get out of your original 125A Alternator (in fact it's a 120A Valeo, not 125)?
I have upgraded my 3JH4 engine from original 80A HItachi to a 125A Hitachi clone (very similar to the Valeo) including upgrading to the 6PK belt as you have on your engine. I optimized the alternator pulley to get a 1:2,4 ratio. Also added external fan cooling and can now charge with 120-125A net (Alternator giving 130-135A) continuous. Maybee external fan cooling will give you enough.

How did you set up the external fan?   Do you have a picture?  When you say that you get 120A continuously, is that with lithium batteries?   My experience is that the AGM's internal resistance quickly limit the charging current
