I often keep the charger/inverter off to conserve power while at anchor. When I switched it on this evening, the RCBO common breaker on the 230v panel blew. 

I isolated the issue to the Sockets II circuit, the 110 outlets in the forward and two aft cabins. I made sure all power users were unplugged -  but the breaker still cuts off as soon as I power on these outlets with the Sockets II 110v outlet switch at the panel. 

All other 110v outlets in the boat work properly. Condition exists running the generator, or powering via the inverter. 

There's likely a short or a bad ground in the wiring somewhere, perhaps a crossed or wet wire behind an outlet (unlikely) or I'm guessing the switch itself might be bad. It looks intact when I pulled the panel. 

Anyone come across this before? Going to look around further, pull all the outlets out and check the wiring, but at the moment I'm stumped. Have a volt meter but I'm sure how to best proceed to isolate the issue. 

Turns out it was inside the 110v panel. 

There were a few extra slots - unplugged one of the outlet circuits from this slot and moved to an adjacent open slot and all works properly. Likely a bad relay - or maybe it's the board. 

After spending too much time disconnecting outlets and trying to discern why my suspected outlets all showed 15k Ohms between neutral and hot, my service advisor suggested maybe move around some plugs on the back of the circuit board to a spare slot. 

My service advisor suggested that the panel was the likely culprit if there was nothing out of sorts at the outlets and plugs, which I carefully inspected.  The white tape indicates the bad socket.   

It was not the rocker switch that was faulty. 

Rather, I'm fairly certain there is a relay under the white tape at 101.2.1 with a fault that brings down the entire SocketsII circuit when it is connected up. Once this relay was bypassed, the circuit worked and I am no longer tripping the breaker. 

I discovered this by disconnecting each 101.2.X Plug from the back of the board in turn. There are 3 on my boat - port aft cabin, starboard aft cabin/salon setee, and main cabin. Once 101.2.1 was disconnected (port aft cabin outlet) all the other SocketII circuits returned to life. Then I found an open relay adjacent for the aft cabin circuit plug - and problem solved.

Looking at the wire diagram, these boats have provisions for more 110 outlets than I speced - things like the forward crew cabin outlet. Hence there are a few open spaces on the back of the board. 

Sorry for the confusing messages.  This topic is not my strong suit. I'm just glad I was able to figure it out and i don't have to buy a new board or go hunting for wire connectors in hard to reach places. Or pay for an electrician to swap out a few plugs on the back of the board. 

Next task is to pick up a few replacement relays for this board. This seems to happen in these boats according to my service manager. Anyone know the spec for these relays?

Hello this is the wiring diagram for the 505-508 EU 240v and US 120v versions.

There’s only one relay 2K1 page 2.B4 in the AC circuit who’s only connect (page 5.A4 contact 03-04) the washer/dryer (5.B3) and waterheater (5.B5) only if the source switch is in the wall power our generator position and there’s power on.

Al the other AC connections(plugs) on page 3,4 and 5 have only thermal breaker switches no relays.

Connection (plug) X101.1.3 and X101.2.3 on page 3.C3 and 3.C8 are free in standard versions and protected by thermal breaker switches 3F1 and 3F2 on page 3.B1 and 3B4

If you don’t have a wine cooler, dishwasher and washer/dryer the plugs X101.4 ,X101.5 and X101.6 on page 5 are free to use 

Only X101.6 (washer/dryer) will not working on the inverter and only working when there’s no wall our generator power
