Can anyone please explain the purpose of the F5 furler control button on the 12V panel on the right column?  The the factory and dealer are slow to respond in this area and offer conflicting guidance.  We have always engaged the button to use the main mast electric furling, but after a lightning strike, my current electrician says there is no wire going to that button on my 588.
Thank you in advance for any help.

I gather it is only used if you have an electric headsail furler?

As a routine, we always engaged the F5 Further control button. But  thought it was only for the main sail.
But, yes, the fore sails are also electric

I just received the below response from the dealer and factory, after many queries:

"I have checked with several 588’s local and abroad that all the F5 buttons are not connected to anything. I have also checked with the yard that explained the same that there is no standard connection what they do. If your find out on a 588 resulted that they connected the in-boom furling its because they connected to the F5 button."
