Hi,

I canīt tell from the brochure and pictures: Does the 470 have a garage like the 540 ? Seems silly to not use this as an opening when there already is a transom door there, but I am suspicious about this...

Of course I understand from the plan drawings that a dinghy wouldnīt fit but maybe a jet ski or at least other equipment and toys.

No garage, just a boarding / swimming platform that folds down.

And I personally doubt if a Jet ski would fit in, even if it opened to the lazzaretteSmile.

Thanks John.

Iīm considering the 470 but I think the "fake transom garage" looks silly (actually it LOOKS good when closed).

Do you think itīs possible to customize (cut out) the door and make the lazarette have a second opening (in the stern) ? (albeit not roomy enough for a jet ski) Or does this conflict with something or is the lazarette not secured for an opening in the stern ?

Lots of people ask this question. The lazarette is definitely too small for this kind of stuff; not even a smaller tender would probably fit in. And where would you put the rest of your stuff (fenders, lines aso.) I agree it would be nice to remove the tender from the deck before the mainsheet, where it is usually placed; at least in cruising areas where you anchor regularly and need the tender to go ashore. Besides that the interior layout of the lazarette is not made you use opened (not waterproof). For intentions like that you better go for the 540. Also because she's got an hydraulic platform that can go down more than 90 degrees.

Tobo has said it all.

I don't know the interior layout of the 470 lazerette, but the 461's is not seperated from the boat interior by a full height and completely watertight bulkhead.

Hence cutting though the transom behind the swim platform would be a serious no-no.
