I had requested a diesel heater to be installed from the factory for the Hanse 460. The heater, which comes for a very high price of €4500, is unfortunately very small and insufficient for the boat. The installed heater is Eberspacher's 2.kw Airtronic for caravans and is sold for around €500. The heater output is only in the saloon and the port WC. We had heating problems in the rooms and especially in the master cabin in the 460 all winter. The first thing we thought of was installing a second heater. Or we are also thinking of extending the pipe to the front master cabin. Does anyone have experience with this?

Swap for a 4KW model. We had one on our 388 and it was very good.

In accessory list, there is two different heaters. The one with outlet in one head and main saloon and other one with "hot water ring and outlet in each cabin/head". I wonder, what is the power in second one.

Previous similar sized 445 models came with Webasto Air Top Evo 5500. 90mm duct from heater at stern to forward bulkhead with 60mm branches to outlet vents. If increasing from 2kW to 4kW model, likely you need to increase the duct sizes. 2kW is far too small!

The problems with the Webasto-Eberspăcher air heaters are mostly that the ducks are to small (no enough space) and to long for good working.
We have installed “The hot water ring like you call it “ ebersprăcher Hydronic M-II 12.000 Watt  in our 54 feet.It works like a normal central heating system: heated cooling water runs by small tubes (20mm pec ) to heatexchangers with a ventilator  (in each cabin and head we have total 8 (2 in saloon)) with each there one individual thermostats.
This works very fast ,good and warmup fast for more than 15 years now.
We run it also to heat the waterheater when no wall electricity our no need to run the engine our generator (less fuel consumption and noise)

Jtjk,

Good to know, i am installing a 5kw Eberspacher hydronic in my 445. Can you tell me, where the furnace is mounted in your boat, please. My set up will have one heater
Mounted in the saloon, 3.6 kw.
And i will heat the water tank, i am swapping out the original water heater for a bigger 40l with dual heat exchangers, so engine and Eberspacher can heat up the water!

I have solved the problem to instal extra 2 kw Eberspreher to the master Cabin. It has 20 liter diesel tank. It works perfect. Dealer has.installed in the fenders locker area. For the exit they drilled the upper side of port side. But when it works I must nor forget to air ventilation in that area.
I have realised that mine original one is 4 kw. So my dealler bring extra hose to the back cabins.
